Michelle grew up in Kingston, Jamaica and has called Maryland home for the past 3 years. She has been in the field of education for 20+ years and has served in a variety of roles (instructional aide, classroom/resource room teacher, residence life advisor) that have enabled her to nurture the holistic development of her students and support their families.
She served for a year with AmeriCorps Project Change where her passion to serve students in Montgomery County was ignited. She went on to work as a College Access Advisor for 2 years and has enjoyed watching her students successfully navigate the college application process and grow right before her eyes.
Michelle holds a Bachelor’s degree in history from The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, and a master’s degree in education from Chestnut Hill College. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, traveling, going to the beach, listening to music, and binge-watching Netflix.
