Scholar Schools

CDI Scholars are students and alumni of over 120 selective colleges and universities across the country.

We work with each CDI Scholar to identify what makes for the best-fit institution for them, based on their career goals, geographic preferences, high school academics, and financial need. We help students identify which school will provide them with the optimal chances of success, at the best price point for them.

In 2026, CDI Scholars were accepted to an average of 7 colleges and received an average of $60,000 in renewable grants and scholarships, well above the national average of $14,800.

Scholar Majors

CDI Scholars have pursued majors across sectors, with a high proportion of Scholars electing to pursue STEM fields.

Among our CDI Scholar alumni who have graduated from college:

  • 22% chose majors in the health care sector (nursing, neuroscience, public health, etc)

  • 13% chose to major in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or forensic science

  • 24% chose other science and technology majors (physics, statistics, engineering, computer science, geographic information systems, environmental studies)

Further, 54% of current college Scholars have declared STEM majors. At a time when Georgetown’s Center on Education and the Workforce projects a nationwide shortage of 4.5 million workers with Bachelor’s degrees by 2032 – with healthcare estimated to fall short by 735,000 workers – CDI is working to address these critical needs, while at the same time uplifting hardworking young people as they set out to achieve their dreams.
