Elsa Maltese
Elsa earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Northern Illinois University in 2007. Elsa is a Chicago native and now lives in Montgomery County with her husband and her two small senior dogs.
Elsa is first-generation Mexican-American and the first in her family to graduate from a four-year university. Upon her graduation, Elsa worked as a domestic violence advocate for a couple of nonprofit agencies. Afterwards, Elsa worked as a bilingual paralegal at Ayuda providing legal assistance to domestic violence and sexual assault survivors. Most recently, she worked as a victim advocate for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia for the last seven years. Currently, Elsa is pursuing a Master’s in Social Work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. While not at work or at school, she enjoys traveling, fostering rescue dogs, and knitting.
